Lesson
Lesson from the letter of St. Paul the Apostle to Titus
Titus 2:11-15
Beloved: The grace of God our Saviour has appeared to all men, instructing us, in order that, rejecting ungodliness and worldly lusts, we may live temperately and justly and piously in this world; looking for the blessed hope and glorious coming of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, Who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and cleanse for Himself an acceptable people, pursuing good works. Thus speak, and exhort, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
R. Thanks be to God.

Gradual
Ps 109:3; 109:1
Yours is princely power in the day of Your birth, in holy splendor; before the daystar, I have begotten You.
V. The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool. Alleluia, alleluia.
Ps 2:7
The Lord said to Me, You are My Son; this day I have begotten You. Alleluia.

Gospel
Continuation +︎ of the Holy Gospel according to Luke
R. Glory be to Thee, O Lord.
Luke 2:1-14
At that time, there went forth a decree from Caesar Augustus that a census of the whole world should be taken. This first census took place while Cyrinus was governor of Syria. And all were going, each to his own town, to register. And Joseph also went from Galilee out of the town of Nazareth into Judea to the town of David, which is called Bethlehem – because he was of the house and family of David – to register, together with Mary his espoused wife, who was with child. And it came to pass while they were there, that the days for her to be delivered were fulfilled. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds in the same district living in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them and the glory of God shone round about them, and they feared exceedingly. And the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which shall be to all the people; for today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, Who is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign to you: you will find an Infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men of good will.
R. Praise be to Thee, O Christ.
S. By the words of the Gospel may our sins be blotted out.

Offertorium
Ps 95:11, 13
Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice before the Lord, for He comes.

Secreta
May the offering of this day’s festivity, we beseech You, O Lord, find acceptance with You; that, by the bounty of Your grace, we may, through these sacred dealings, be made like unto Him in Whom our nature is united with You.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
R. Amen

Prefatio
Nativity
It is truly meet and just, right and for our salvation, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O holy Lord, Father almighty, everlasting God, for through the Mystery of the Word made flesh, the new light of Thy glory hath shone upon the eyes of our mind, so that while we acknowledge God in visible form, we may through Him be drawn to the love of things invisible. And therefore with Angels and Archangels, with Throne and Dominations, and with all the hosts of the heavenly army, we sing the hymn of Thy glory, evermore saying:

There is a proper Communicantes for Christmas

Communicating, and keeping this most holy day, on which the spotless virginity of blessed Mary brought forth a Saviour to this world; and also reverencing the memory first of the same glorious Mary, ever Virgin, Mother of the same our God and Lord Jesus Christ: as also of the blessed Joseph, her Spouse,

Communio
Ps 109:3
In holy splendor, before the daystar I have begotten You.

Postcommunio
Let us pray.
Grant, we beseech You, O Lord our God, that we who joyfully celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, in this sacrament may gain His companionship by worthy living.
Who livest and reignest with God the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
R. Amen
